Marionette Lines

Marionette Lines are the lines running from the corners of the mouth to the chin, and are usually visible in ageing skin.

Marionette Lines Treatments.

Whilst they are a natural part of ageing, they are more visible on some people than others. As with other lines and wrinkles, these lines can affect self –confidence. Botox injections are commonly used to reduce the impact of these lines.

  • What causes Marionette Lines?

As we age, the ligaments near the chin and mouth loosen. Fat deposits deplete under the facial skin, and this creates a hollow effect. When the skin then sags, Marionette lines appear.

Because of the “downturned mouth” effect, they can make you look sad or angry, and this can impact on the way you are perceived by others.

  • What is the best treatment for Marionette Lines?

Botox injections offer a good solution to this problem, as they can help to raise the corners of the mouth. This helps to reduce the angry or sad look that Marionette Lines create. Often, dermal fillers are used in conjunction with the Botox injections to achieve the best results.

  • How long does this effect on the Marionette Lines last?

Marionette Lines are softened and this lasts about 4-5 months. However, repeated treatments, over time, will improve the appearance of the area generally.

  • Are there any side effects?

Botox injections are safe, non surgical and approved. When administered, some people experience short term tenderness, with a little swelling. These side effects disappear quickly, and are shown to subside with each treatment.

  • Who will perform the botox injections for marionette lines treatment?

As with all Botox injections treatments, the Marionette Lines treatment for men and women is performed by one of our qualified practitioners and supervised by Doctor Maria Gonzalez.
